April 1st 2014, Just back home from Guatemala City, meeting all the incredible angels volunteering at The Moore Pediatric Center, TheShalomFoundation.org witch provides much needed medical and nutritional care for the children of Guatemala. I was assigned a interpreter by my friends Pedro and Ligia Figuera and had the opportunity to perform some comedy magic to the group waiting to be screened for medical care. The kids were great to me and tried not to laugh at me for my inability to speak spanish. Having Alexandria and Rosa interpret what I say I believe was a advantage, putting a positive spin on everything I say. I will travel with a interpreter everywhere I go from now on. Too often I will say something in America in english and my mother or friend will interpret what I say giving the listener a apology of some kind like, “he’s a comedian, or were sorry, he was just trying to joke” ruining my delivery and comedy. Never again. The medical staff of the Moore Pediatric center , in co operation with the Shalom Foundation operates a fine tuned operation of providing medical services to the children, it was very exciting to me meeting so many doctors and surgeons committed to the well being of the children has restored my faith in the medical profession. Dr Nina and so many others. The greatest medical facility, greatest coffee and greatest people. Visit Guatemala city!
